The NUE2012 initiative has been inspired by the 2012 Olympics and celebrated pre-existing enterprise and entrepreneurship with UK Higher Education Institutes (Universities only) by awarding a national shortlist and ultimate 'winner of winners' of eligible businesses coming through the universities start-up support programmes.
The final of the National University Entrepreneur (NUE) 2012 competition was held at Lancaster House on the 1st of August with four finalists competing in a Dragon’s Den competition.
University of Loughborough’s Felicity Milton managed to win over the Dragons as well as the audience with 81% of the votes with her licensing and royalty entity 1point6.
Felicity faced former Dragon Doug Richard; founder and editor of Enterprise Nation Emma Jones; University of Cambridge’s Entrepreneur in Residence Professor Alan Barrell; and NCEE’s Executive Chairman David Frost.
